KYND Uluwatu: The Pretty-in-Pink Bali Café That Is More Than a Photo Stop
Some cafés become famous for one particular image. At KYND Uluwatu, it is usually a pink wall, a tropical smoothie bowl and somebody’s name carefully cut from fruit.
It would be easy to dismiss the whole thing as a café designed for Instagram.
That would be missing the point.
KYND has been part of Bali’s plant-based dining scene since 2017, beginning in Seminyak before expanding to Canggu and, most recently, Uluwatu.
The Uluwatu café opened in 2025, bringing the brand’s familiar pink palette, tropical energy and vegetable-led menu to Jalan Labuansait in Pecatu.
There is outdoor seating for watching Uluwatu life move past and air-conditioned booths inside when the midday heat becomes less charming.
Next door, the brand’s Koncept store offers clothing, accessories and homewares for anyone who wants to take part of the KYND aesthetic home.
Yes, the café is photogenic.
But it is also bright, easy and genuinely useful — particularly when you want a breakfast that involves more than eggs, toast and another iced latte.
Is KYND Uluwatu still vegan? An important menu change
For years, KYND was known as an entirely vegan café.
That is no longer strictly the case.
In late 2025, KYND transitioned from a fully vegan concept to a vegetarian, plant-forward café, introducing free-range eggs and dairy to a small selection of dishes.
The majority of the menu remains plant-based, and vegan dishes and alternatives are still clearly identified.
KYND says its eggs and dairy are sourced from small local producers that the team has personally visited and vetted. Plant-based milks also remain the default.
However, the kitchens are no longer exclusively vegan and cannot guarantee complete separation from dairy or eggs.
For most diners, this simply means there are now more choices.
For strict vegans or anyone managing an allergy, it is worth confirming the ingredients and preparation of individual dishes when ordering.
Breakfast at KYND Uluwatu: what to order
Breakfast is the reason most people first find KYND Uluwatu.
The menu is colourful, familiar and reassuringly broad, moving from smoothie bowls and pancakes to avocado toast, breakfast burritos and more substantial savoury plates.
If you want the classic KYND experience, order a smoothie bowl.
The bowls are built around blended tropical fruit and finished with granola, fresh fruit, seeds and coconut. They arrive arranged with the kind of precision normally reserved for dessert.
You can also ask to have a short name or word added in fruit lettering — the detail responsible for a significant portion of KYND’s Instagram fame.
It is touristy.
It is also fun.
There is no need to pretend otherwise.
The smoothie bowls make the most sense on a hot Uluwatu morning when you want something cold and refreshing before heading to the beach.
For something more filling, choose the Big Boss Breakfast, which can be ordered with either free-range eggs or scrambled tofu and typically brings together sourdough, smoky mushrooms and a broader selection of breakfast sides.
This is the better choice before a full day of beaches, temples and cliffside exploring.
KYND’s Paradise Pancakes
Then there are the pancakes.
KYND’s Paradise Pancakes have been one of its signature orders for years, and they look exactly as cheerful as the café itself.
The thick, fluffy pancakes are generally served with fruit, berry compote, coconut ice cream and maple syrup, creating something closer to a holiday breakfast than an everyday one.
They are sweet, generous and highly photogenic.
If everyone at the table wants something savoury, order one stack to share afterward.
That is probably the best way to approach them.
The pancakes are worth trying, but eating an entire serve alone can make the morning feel like it ended with dessert before 10am.
Lunch at KYND Uluwatu: bowls, burgers and salads
From midday, the menu becomes broader and more substantial.
This is where KYND moves away from its reputation as a smoothie-bowl café and becomes a useful all-day restaurant.
Expect colourful salads, build-your-own protein bowls, burgers, Mexican-inspired plates and plant-forward versions of comfort-food favourites.
The DIY protein bowls allow you to build lunch around the ingredients you actually want, combining vegetables, grains, greens, sauces and a chosen protein.
This is the smartest order if you have been eating richly elsewhere in Bali and want something fresh without settling for a plate of leaves.
KYND has also become known for dishes such as its Buddha-style bowls, breakfast burritos, plant-based burgers and curries.
The bowls tend to be the strongest choice.
They suit the climate, travel well if ordered for takeaway and deliver the kind of meal most people imagine they will eat every day when planning a Bali holiday.
The burgers and comfort dishes are there for the afternoon when another salad no longer sounds convincing.

Is KYND Uluwatu good for non-vegans?
Yes.
In fact, KYND’s decision to become vegetarian rather than exclusively vegan was specifically intended to make plant-forward food more accessible to people who might not usually choose a vegan café.
The menu does not rely entirely on raw vegetables, imitation meat or overtly “healthy” food.
There are pancakes, burgers, burritos, toast, curry, pasta-style dishes and desserts alongside the salads and smoothie bowls.
That makes it an easy option for mixed groups.
A committed vegan can still eat well.
A vegetarian has extensive choice.
Someone who normally eats meat can order a substantial breakfast or burger without feeling as though they have been brought along for a wellness lecture.
Coffee, smoothies and juices at KYND Uluwatu
Drinks are a major part of the KYND experience.
The menu typically includes espresso coffee, iced coffee, matcha, juices, wellness drinks and a long list of smoothies.
This is Bali, so the smoothies are not restrained.
Expect combinations built around banana, berries, mango, dragon fruit, cacao, peanut butter, coconut and plant-based protein.
Some function as drinks.
Others are effectively an entire second breakfast.
If you are ordering a smoothie bowl or pancakes, choose coffee or juice rather than adding one of the richer smoothies.
For something quick after the beach or gym, a protein smoothie can work as the meal itself.
Plant-based milk remains KYND’s default, although dairy is now available in selected parts of the menu.
Koncept by KYND: come for the café, stay for the store
The Uluwatu location has an advantage the earlier cafés do not: Koncept by KYND sits next door.
The retail space carries the brand’s own clothing and merchandise alongside lifestyle pieces and products intended to reflect the same colourful, optimistic version of Bali as the café.
It is worth a quick look after breakfast, particularly if you like graphic T-shirts, caps, resort-style clothing or small pieces that feel more considered than standard souvenir shopping.
You do not need to plan a separate visit.
Treat it as an extension of the café and wander through once the table is cleared.
How much does KYND Uluwatu cost?
KYND Uluwatu sits in Bali’s affordable-to-mid-range café category.
It is more expensive than a local warung, but comparable with the polished brunch cafés found throughout Uluwatu, Canggu and Seminyak.
For a main breakfast dish or smoothie bowl with coffee or juice, we would allow approximately Rp150,000–Rp250,000 per person, depending on what you order.
A more substantial lunch with a smoothie, side or sweet could bring the total closer to Rp250,000–Rp350,000 per person.
Menu items and prices can change, and the official KYND website currently displays sample menus rather than guaranteeing every dish across every location.
Check the menu at the café if you are visiting for one particular item.
Do you need a reservation at KYND Uluwatu?
For breakfast and lunch, you cannot book.
KYND operates on a walk-in basis during the day and seats guests as tables become available.
Waits are generally manageable, but the cafés can become busy during peak brunch hours.
For the easiest visit, arrive before 9am or choose a later lunch after the main breakfast crowd has moved on.
KYND’s current policy allows reservations for dinner after 5pm, which can be made through its official website.
If you are visiting primarily for smoothie bowls, pancakes and the full colourful-café experience, morning remains the best time to go.
KYND Uluwatu opening hours and the best time to go
KYND currently lists its cafés as open seven days a week from 7.30am until 9.30pm, with breakfast, lunch and dinner available.
For Uluwatu, we would choose breakfast.
The café is brightest, the smoothie bowls make sense, and you can use it as the beginning of a day exploring the Bukit Peninsula.
Go early, sit outside before the heat builds and continue towards Padang Padang, Bingin or Uluwatu Temple afterward.
Lunch is the better option if you want a protein bowl or something savoury after the beach.
Dinner is available, but KYND’s strongest identity still belongs to daylight.
Heading north afterwards? Buzo in Seminyak is our pick for dinner.
